Brown - Math 6 (Unit 14)
- Tiffany entered a 2-day baking contest. On day one, she was penalized a total of 12 points in 6 events at a baking contest for starting before time was called. Supposed she was penalized an equal number of points at each competition.
- Step A: What integer best describes the penalty during each contest?
- Step B: • Use what you know about integers to justify why your answer is correct. Use words, numbers, and/or symbols in your justification.
- Suppose Tiffany was rewarded a total of 15 points in the final 4 events. Write an expression that can be used to determine Tiffany’s final score. Use what you know about integers to explain why your expression is correct. Use words, number, and/or symbols in your explanation. (Information was taken from the Grade 6 Curriculum Framework - PGCPS)
Step A:-2
ReplyDeleteStep B:i didvided -12 divided by 6
Step C:i got my answer by subtracting by +15 and -12 and i got +3
step a- -2
ReplyDeletestep b- i got my answer by putting them in order it was 6 events this is what i did -2,-4,-6,-8,-10,-12 that's all 6 events the answer is -2 for step a but when i did all 6 events plus 2 the answer was -12.
STEP A: -2
ReplyDeleteSTEP B: I divided -12/6=-2
STEP C: 15-13=2
Step A- -12
ReplyDeleteStep B-First,I know there are 6 events.Since there is -2 for each event,so I diveded -12 and 6.So my answer is -12.
Ecr-Since she was rewarded a total of 15 points in the final 4 events,I did +15-(-12) which equals +3.So Tiffany's final score is +3.
Step A:-2 describes the penalty.
ReplyDeleteStep B:My answer is correct because because you would divide 12 by 6 and get 2 then you took 2 away each time so its a negative.
ECR:15-12=3
step A: first i know tiffany was in 6 event and she got a -2 for each event so i divided 12 and 6, so my answer is -12
ReplyDeleteECR:since she was given 15 points in the final 4 events i did positive 15 - (-12)which equals +3
step a-2
ReplyDeletestepb-i got my answer-2 by multiplying6x2and i got12
